What is a Learning Management System?

A learning management system (LMS) is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting and delivery of educational courses or training programs. An LMS helps your instructor deliver material to you and the other learners in your course, administer tests and other assignments, track your progress, and manage record-keeping. LMSs are focused on online learning delivery but support a range of uses, acting as a platform for both in-class, online and hybrid courses.

The U of T School of Continuing Studies primarily uses the Blackboard LMS, but a few courses use Curatr.
