What are system requirements for online proctoring?

The School of Continuing Studies partners with Examity® to offer online proctoring services. System requirements for online proctoring are listed below:

  • Desktop computer, laptop, or Chromebook (not tablet or phone). Please note that while Chromebooks can be used, desktop or laptop computers are preferred.”

  • Webcam and microphone (built-in or external) – test your webcam at https://webcamtests.com/

  • Connection to network with sufficient internet speed: at least 2 Mbps download speed and 2Mbps upload – test internet speed at www.speedtest.net

  • Operating systems: Windows XP or newer, Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) – or newer

  • Browsers: Google Chrome is the ONLY supported browser for exams proctored through Examity®. Pop-up blocker must be disabled.

  • Microsoft Word and/or Excel will be required for some exams. Please check with your instructor.
