Quercus is a learning management engine, and is the University of Toronto’s main online teaching and learning platform.
Quercus is web-based platform in which you can access course content, submit assessments, and interact with your instructor and other learners using a range of tools. Your Quercus course site will be the “virtual classroom” where you, your instructor, and the other course participants will interact throughout the duration of the course. You will receive a detailed schedule for your course and information about how Quercus will be used for all course formats (in-class, online and hybrid) in your Course Outline at the beginning of your course.
Why is it called Quercus? A student contest was conducted in the fall of 2017 to name the new LME. The winning name Quercus is the Latin word for the Oak tree genus and its relation to the University of Toronto coat of arms’ oak tree and motto “velut arbor aevo”, Latin for “as a tree through the ages”.
You can login to your Quercus account here.
